Chalet 96 La Norma

Practical Information for Chalet 96 in La Norma

Front door: The front door is sometimes difficult to close, ensure it is properly shut by lifting the handle upwards. Please close the door properly, especially in winter, to avoid high heating costs.

Shutters: During cold weather, close the shutters at night. In winter, the shutters might freeze at the bottom. If this happens, carefully remove the ice before opening them.

Electric Heating: Do not cover the electric heating elements or place anything on them, as it is a fire hazard.
Day mode = sun
Night mode = moon
Upon departure: snowflake
Summer: only turn on if necessary.

Bathroom There is a switch for the bathroom fan in the living room near the stairs, turn it on before showering. The bathroom currently has a weak ventilation system (working on it), so please leave the bathroom door slightly open after showering. The radiator is usually turned off, but you can activate it by pressing the button below the display screen. The tiled floor can be cold, so we recommend bringing a bath mat from home.

Electric Boiler: The boiler has a 200-litre capacity. Hot water is automatically heated in the evening and for a few hours during the day.

Beds The master bedroom features a double bed (160 x 200 cm) with a double duvet (200 x 200 cm) and four pillows. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with two single beds (90 x 200 cm), each with single duvets and four pillows. Please use your own fitted sheets and pillowcases on the provided pillows and mattresses. All mattresses are already covered with waterproof molton sheets. The living room has a double sofa bed (140 x 200 cm) with two single duvets (140 x 200 cm) and two pillows stored underneath. For the sofa bed you also need to bring your own pillowcases and fitted sheets.

Internet We offer free super-fast Wifi internet in our chalet. The internet code can be found on the router.

TV There are two remote controls next to the TV. Use the white remote to turn on the TV (standby button), operate the Chromecast, and switch between Chromecast (HDMI 1) and TV (HDMI 2) using the source button. The volume buttons are on the side of the white remote.

The black remote is only for watching French TV. First, switch to HDMI 2 using the source button on the white remote, then turn on the Orange TV with the black remote to watch TV.

Games and Crafts: In the cupboards under the window in the living room, you’ll find various board games such as Rummikub, Scrabble, Yahtzee, cards, etc. There is also a large craft box with drawing materials, colouring books, and stickers. Additionally, there is a tub of Lego.

Smoking: We do not smoke and kindly ask our guests smoke outside.

Pets: Due to the owners’ allergies, pets are not allowed in the chalet. Ski and Snowboard Boots: You can dry your ski and snowboard boots on the balcony. There is a rack outside for skis and snowboards, and you can securely store all equipment in the ski locker in the corner of the balcony. The key to the ski locker is attached to the house key.

Washing Machine There is a washing machine in the kitchen. One drying rack is next to the fridge, and the other is on the balcony (behind the bench). Please add anti-limescale detergent to each wash (provided). The dryer function on the washing machine unfortunately does not work, so please dry your laundry on the available drying racks inside or outside. After use, please leave the washing machine door temporarily open.

Combi Microwave Oven: The combi microwave oven is located under the stove in the kitchen. After turning it on, use the left dial to select the desired function. Once the function (oven, microwave, etc.) is selected, use the right dial to choose the mode (circulation, top/bottom heat, etc.). Finally, adjust the settings (time, temperature) by selecting the appropriate menu and adjusting it with the right dial. Once everything is set, press the ‘start/pause’ button at the bottom right.

Kettle and Coffee Maker: We have a filter coffee maker in the kitchen. If necessary, descale the kettle using the descaler provided. Do not place the appliances under the kitchen cabinets while in use due to the steam.

Slippers We recommend bringing slippers from home, as the tiled floor can be cold.

Waste Disposal garbage bags should be disposed of in the roadside containers. There is one container for glass, one for paper and plastic, and one for household waste. Chalet 96: Waste separation in La Norma.
